MET63 has recently contracted AGE Technologies as their preferred electrical contractor for the design and implementation of a Manganese crushing and screening plant in the Northern Cape.
AGE Technologies scope of work was to provide a complete electrical, instrumentation and automation solution based on the specifications provided by MET63. A 12 meter containerised solution was used for the 1250 Amp rated MCC and control room. The MCC was designed and manufactured using Schneider Electric switchgear, soft starters, variable speed drives and direct on line motor starters. A M340 PLC with a Citect Lite SCADA is used for the control and automation of the plant.
To date, the full electrical installation has been completed on-site with Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) having been approved. The cold commissioning phase of the project was successful and the commissioning team on-site has commenced with the hot commissioning phase. Project completion and handover is scheduled for mid-September.
